Sean Strasma was born in Portland, Oregon and has lived in Georgia, Texas, Costa Rica, and North Carolina. He was impacted by youth ministry during his freshman year of high school and saw firsthand how relational ministry can change lives. Sean went on to become a student leader in three local youth groups and his local FCA chapter at school.
Growing up in the Pentecostal Church, Sean had never encountered historical Christianity until he attended Toccoa Falls College in Georgia. He encountered the Early Church Fathers by chance through one of his classes and was moved by the writings. However, he did not pursue the historical church further at that time. As an intern at an evangelical church with a powerhouse youth ministry program, Sean could not shake God’s nudge through the writers of the Early Church, and soon he was exploring various branches of historical Christianity. In 2012, Sean converted to Roman Catholicism and shortly after his confirmation, he was hired as the youth minister at St. Teresa of Avila in Grovetown, Georgia.
Sean worked for Adore Ministries located in Houston, Texas, and then as a youth minister at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, also in Houston. During the pandemic, Sean decided to finish school and during this process, lived in Costa Rica for a short while. In 2023, Sean graduated from Toccoa Falls College with a Bachelor of Science in Ministry Leadership.
Sean is very eager to bring his array of ministry experience to serve the teens and parents at St. Mark Catholic Church. He also loves to help the Catholic Church in production as a tech operator and was recently hired to work at the National Eucharistic Congress. Sean enjoys leading praise and worship, hanging out at the beach, and traveling around the United States.
