Deacon John Hubbarth

Deacon John was ordained in the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 11, 1983. He recently celebrated his 40th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Diaconate in June 2023. Before retiring last June, Deacon John was a business manager for St. Matthew Parish in Spotsylvania, Virginia for 21 years and prior to that, he spent 31 years as a human resources director for some major banks.

He has now been a deacon in 8 dioceses. Deacon John has been married to his wife, Jane, for 53 years. They have 3 children, Tracy Marie of Louisville, KY, Christopher John of Kalamazoo, MI, and Elizabeth Anne of Ruther Glen, VA. They also have 12 grandchildren.

Deacon John is also a certified marriage and family counselor, and he loves working with young people and families.
