The Knights of Columbus are hosting a Family Movie Night featuring a free screening of the 1966 film, A Man for All Seasons, on Saturday, March 2nd, from 7:30pm-9:30pm in the Parish Hall. The movie tells the story of the esteemed Sir Thomas More, who refused to pressure the pope into annulling the marriage of King Henry VIII, so that he could marry Anne Boleyn with the aim of producing a male heir.
Thomas More, a devout Catholic, stood by his religious principles in the face of political pressure and moved to leave the royal court. Unfortunately, the king and his loyalists were not appeased by this, and pressed forward with grave charges of treason, further testing Sir Thomas More's resolve to compromise his beliefs.
A Man for All Seasons is rated G and is 120 minutes. This film won 5 Academy Awards including Best Picture. Light refreshments will be served. Pre-registration is not required, but encouraged.
